Studies suggest that the best predictor for lasting willpower is psychological flexibility.
Well really this is just saying that psychological flexibility is a brilliant, generative resource. Lasting willpower may well be desirable in many contexts, but it is just one option, and accessing better flexibility is synonymous with accessing more options.
Actually, it is more than that, it is about accessing and embodying artfully useful options, in the moment, as you need them, when under heightened emotional pressure.
